President Trump has been doing everything possible from the executive/administrative standpoint to get costs reduced across every sector of the economy. The extent that prices are too high now is largely the responsibility of Congress, particularly the democrat party, and its spending. It is important to understand which branch of government is primarily responsible for inflation and the devaluing of the currency, so that people do not fight the wrong enemy. Reducing the costs of living and making goods/services more affordable begins and ends with drastic reductions in spending. This must be done now. The midterms are next year, and the goal of reducing spending also necessitate that people are pro-active in electing more congressmen who will do this.

There are concrete reasons why housing is often unaffordable now, as opposed to being more affordable in the past. A part of the problem is the spending / inflation. Another cause is not the lack of homes. It is in fact the overabundance of homes in the wrong places. This raises the property values and home prices in these areas, thus making more areas of the country less affordable. It has been said that much of the baby boomer generation made lifestyle decisions with no regard as to long-term consequences for the future.
