It seems that the present dispute among many Americans regarding our alliance with Israel is based on hot-headed and inappropriate jabs on social media, rather than the underlying, long-term realities, because Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as Israel as a whole, does not want to be dependent on United States intervention, nor do they want to be dependent on the United States for money or aid. They take very little direct money from the United States, and the aid sent them is in the form of military equipment that they buy, and it is neither a waste of our money nor a drain on our country to help them when they need it. The small amount of money that is provided directly is little compared to the billions in waste and fraud that is being found almost daily.

The idea that Israel is somehow "controlling" our politics originated with the left. It is an old lie, designed to weaken the American / Israeli alliance through unfounded smears, and by sowing internal division. Those who perpetrate this lie inevitably use the same talking points and accusations as those of the Iranian propaganda machine. This is not an accident.

In reality, there are simply Jewish individuals and Jewish organizations in the United States, who, like anyone else, sometimes contribute to the campaigns of those they believe are the best candidate for the job, and who communicate both to public officials and to the public at large their interests as a Jewish American. This also means that when a person says, "we need to remove Israel's influence from American politics", what they are really calling for is the suspension of their constitutional freedom as an American to donate, and for the restriction of their freedom of speech.

As for the nation of Israel, what they really want is for the United States not to restrain them, or to dictate how, when or what degree they can take action against threats to their own country. They, better than anyone else, know the threats to their country, the ones that are imminent, and where they are. Being close allies, they share vital intelligence with the United States when such threats apply to us as well.

The conflict with Iran is not simply a long retaliation to the October 7th massacre. It is born from the fact that Iran is a sworn enemy of both countries, and is bent on having a nuclear arsenal capable of destroying both nations as well as any other nation that does not submit to the tenets of Islam. Due to their goals, and the aggression with which they pursue them, the threat has been both imminent and long-term. Finally, after 47 years, we have a President who actually wants to protect the United States from this regime and seeks to render it powerless, both now and in the future.

The temporary rise in gas prices does not compare to the value of having such a regime removed from over our heads, as well as the heads of future generations, and the people who are complaining the loudest about the gas prices now are the same ones who were silent about them when they were even higher under a corrupt, anti-American cabal. Thankfully, because of this courageous work, we have already destroyed most of Iran's capabilities - in month's time, not years - and are now we are in the process of eliminating the remaining possibility that they can rebuild. Due to the circumstances, it must be done now, and done completely, for the same reason that when you take down an angry beehive, you take it down completely and at one time. You don't wait months or years for the remaining bees, angry than ever, to regroup.

Not every benefit is material.

Sometimes, it comes in the form of prevention / protection from the spread of what is NOT beneficial, such as the spread of evil, corruption and terror.
This is best accomplished when the people of the U.S are of a mind to stand with the one country in the Middle East from which the U.S got its underpinning, rather than leave it to the wolves.

To put it in the negative: Turning ones back on Israel involves turning away from the moral and civilizational light that God brought to the world through Israel.

Yet maintaining a strong alliance with Israel has also availed the United States to Israeli intelligence and technology, which strengthens our own country.

For example, the famous Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), which was introduced by President Reagan and dubbed "Star Wars" by the left, involved an invisible, protective shield around the entire country that would extend into outer space and intercept any incoming missiles or rockets from an enemy country before they could land. This is now being pursued by President Trump.

Neither the idea nor the technology involved originated with the U.S; It originated with Israel. In their country, it took the form of the 'Iron Dome', and has long been used to block incoming fire, saving Israel countless times from complete destruction.

The drip irrigation system is Israeli technology, allowing American farmers to grow crops successfully using a fraction of the amount water and fertilizer.
PillCam is an Israeli medical innovation, used in hospitals to improve patient care and help save lives.
There are Israeli companies that work in the "clean water" and "clean energy" spheres that partner with American cities and utilities, and no, these are not the horrific windmills, solar panels and CO2 pipelines of the Green New Deal.

Israeli investment in the United States exceeded $318 billion in the last decade, and the total trade between the two countries was approximately $34 billion in 2025 alone.

In addition, most of the 3.3 billion in annual aid to Israel is actually military equipment that Israel buys from the U.S, which supports employment and manufacturing in the defense sphere.

The problem with adopting the ideas and arguments of the left in order to gain general acceptance is that the logic behind these ideas is flawed, if it exists at all, and sooner or later, when their error is seen or backfires, you will be the one carrying the blame, rather than the blame going to where it rightfully belongs.
