Fundamentally, the success of a state's economy, cultural makeup, quality of life and many other things is not determined by the presence or absence of a state income tax, or the presence or absence of property taxes. Perhaps more than any other single thing, it is determined by the amount of population and zoning. This scheme serves one of the most important objectives of the "Comprehensive Blueprint for the reorganization of Human Society", now known as the Green New Deal, whose goal is to pre-empt the free market economy by confiscating wealth and locking down the land. The success or failure of communism in the United States and in Florida specifically is determined by the possession and control of land - land that could otherwise represent something far greater: Freedom; The freedom and opportunity for original, creative talent or quality employment; Freedom and pride of ownership, the freedom of travel, the presence of beauty, shade, privacy and oxygen, and the presence of original, independent sources of food in a local area should its citizens be faced with unexpected challenges related to agriculture.

Simply eliminating property taxes to compensate for high property taxes does not address the source of the problem, nor does it solve the entire constellation of problems that come from rezoning and gentrification. Byron Donalds for example, candidate for governor of Florida, wants to impose a 6-12% universal sales tax in place of property taxes as a 'counter balance', should property taxes be eliminated. The continued failure of both elected 'leaders' and other peddlers of the tax proposal to acknowledge the source of the problem and the total reality of living, rather than just one painful symptom, makes their continuous swirling around the property tax reality itself seem juvenile.
