One of the main objectives of the Green New Deal is to put the land and bodies of water in the United States under the control of the federal government, and ultimately the UN. In order to do this, however, they have to create a crises in the ecosystem, such as mass shortages of water, in order to force totalitarian measures / changes. There is no better means of causing mass drought than the use of data centers, which also fulfill many other totalitarian aims at once. This is likely one of the main reasons why they attempt to continue their plans despite the growing evidence against them, and why they have wanted to place so many of them across all different areas of the country.

There has been a question posed to various candidates / public figures, as to whether they would be willing to put a "One year moratorium" on data centers in their area or state.
This is a trick question, because if a person answers "yes" to the moratorium, it implies that they would be willing to allow for a data center after one year, or whatever the given time span.
The real answer is in the state or county constitution, its bylaws, codes and regulations. They seldom, if ever make provision for any such development.
Thus the real question is whether the public figure will honor the existing state and local rules, and if the rules do seem to allow for such a development, whether they are willing to tighten the rules so that they do not.
