Raising taxes on the "richer and whiter neighborhoods", and putting a "freeze" on rent which in some cases has not been raised since the 1950's, does not make housing, groceries or energy more affordable for the middle class and poor. In contrast, Curtis Sliwa is the only candidate who wants to lower property taxes at large, and reduce waste in the NYC budget, so that living conditions are more affordable and the middle class and poor can stay in their homes. He is also the only candidate who wants to alleviate conditions for the landlords. Andrew Cuomo suspended the responsibility of tenants to pay rent during 2020 so that tenants would not have to pay rent during the pandemic. This is still in effect now, five years later, and many of the landlords in NYC have neither been able to evict those who are derelict, nor can they afford to do the needed work on their homes to make them suitable for the market once they are evicted. As a result, large sections of the present housing in NYC have become slum-like, and unavailable/unsuitable for new tenants. Simply restoring the landlords ability to collect rent/evict derelict tenants, and alleviating some of their taxes and regulations from the department of buildings will free up the already existing housing to be usable again. In conjunction with this, the empty office spaces/buildings can be made available to builders/renovators to transform them into housing. This is how you create "affordable housing" - not by simply building more housing - in areas where they are not needed or wanted.

The people who have called for Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the race over alleged concern about Mamdani have the equal option of using their platforms to promote his victory instead. The reality that they haven't done so, by itself, shows their true intentions. They have encouraged him to drop out simply because they themselves don't want to see him win. They should be ignored. Andrew Cuomo is the one who needs to drop out, and anyone of good faith knows and acknowledges this.

Even now, Mamdani will not renounce his call to "globalizing the intifada" against the Jews. He also believes that Israel is committing genocide. In keeping with this, he has no desire to strengthen law-enforcement to protect the Jews, and by extension, has no inclination to make NYC safer for anyone else. Thus one's positions on the Middle East, particularly if they are extreme, pertain directly to an American political race, because they reflect an entire mentality that shapes one's actions in virtually every other area of life. NYC is the world's largest Jewish population center in the world. Mamdani has been seen next to one of the masterminds of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. When a person is a Muslim who hates the Jews in the Middle East, and is friends of the known enemies of NYC, you are not going to want to protect the Jews of NYC; If you are not willing to protect this major segment of the population, you are not of the mind to protect the city at all.
