If the Senate does not want to eliminate the filibuster to pass the SAVE Act, can it be stated clearly and with certainty what John Thune and other members of the Senate have been doing to gather support for the bill? What action has been done since their recess to bring the bill in its present form to a vote? John Thune has a long record of being a "Republican in name only", and has been challenged in primaries since at least 2013. Did members of the senate forget his long record, or did they select him with good knowledge of this record? If it is not known or reported on as to his efforts (of lack of them) to get the SAVE Act passed in its present form, it could be that he is betraying the country and his constituents again, this time in one of the most egregious ways possible, by slow-walking the country into a voting fraud disaster in the midterms.

The California Governor's Debate included a question on the subject of affordable housing, and the causes and answers to the high home costs. Interestingly, every answer from every candidate addressed only the cost of new home construction.
Conspicuously absent was any answer addressing the costs of living regarding regarding either homeowners or renters in their already-existing, often longstanding homes. The true concern that people have is not with new home construction, but on the costs of living in their present homes now. This is the true affordability problem. Virtually all candidates discussed readily their ideas regarding building new homes or how to make them less expensive, but not one thought or concern was raised regarding "freeing up" or "streamlining the process" of rebuilding the thousands of already existing homes that were destroyed in the California fires last year.
